The New Champions to meet in China

While the Annual Meeting in Davos remains the place where top leaders shape the global, regional and industry agendas, Dalian will be the place to discover the new leaders and focus on how the shifting power equation is changing the global competitive landscape.

This past year, the World Economic Forum launched an exciting new initiative to create a community of new business champions – Global Growth Companies. These new champions come from a wide array of industries and geographies and have the potential to fundamentally change the global context of competitiveness and innovation.

The inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions will bring World Economic Forum members and partners together in a dynamic Davos-like environment with this new and exciting generation of companies and leaders who are changing the global economic landscape. Participating will be CEOs of the world’s most influential companies, political leaders, members of the Forum’s Community of Young Global Leaders, Technology Pioneers, new providers of finance, those driving the evolution of the Web 2.0 world, as well as top executives from Global Growth Companies.

The Annual Meeting of the New Champions was conceived in a meeting between Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. The meeting has the strongest support from the Chinese government who have committed to high level, senior government official participation.
